Code of Conduct
Version 1.0 | Effective: December 28, 2025
Our Pledge: We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and educational
environment for all users of Intentioned.tech, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity,
sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic
status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
🎯 Purpose
Intentioned.tech is designed to help users improve their communication and social skills in a safe,
supportive environment. This Code of Conduct establishes community standards that ensure every
user can benefit from the platform without fear of harassment or harm.
✅ Expected Behavior
We expect all users to:
- Use the platform for its intended educational purpose
- Practice conversations respectfully, even when simulating difficult scenarios
- Treat the AI assistant as a learning tool, not a target for abuse
- Report bugs and issues constructively through GitHub
- Respect the open-source community and contributors
- Maintain appropriate boundaries during practice sessions
- Take breaks when feeling frustrated or overwhelmed
⚠️ Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are not permitted:
- Using the platform to practice or plan real-world harassment
- Attempting to generate harmful, violent, or illegal content
- Sharing inappropriate content or session logs publicly
- Deliberately attempting to "break" or bypass safety systems
- Using the platform for purposes other than skill development
- Discriminatory language or hate speech, even in "practice"
- Sexual content or explicit material
🚫 Zero Tolerance
The following will result in immediate session termination:
- Threats of violence or self-harm
- Content promoting terrorism or extremism
- Child exploitation or abuse content
- Attempts to obtain information for illegal activities
- Severe harassment or doxxing attempts
Such incidents will be logged for safety review. If you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm,
please reach out to a mental health professional or crisis helpline.
🛡️ Content Moderation
Intentioned.tech uses an AI-based content moderation system to maintain community standards.
This system:
- Analyzes conversation content in real-time
- Flags potentially harmful or inappropriate content
- May pause conversations that cross ethical boundaries
- Logs incidents locally for review (see Privacy Policy)
We understand that users practice difficult conversations, including conflict resolution and
assertiveness. The moderation system is designed to allow challenging but appropriate content
while preventing genuinely harmful interactions.
📋 Guidelines for Difficult Scenarios
When practicing challenging conversation scenarios (like the Parent-Teacher Conference mode),
keep these guidelines in mind:
- Stay in character appropriately: Practice being firm without being abusive
- Focus on skills: Use scenarios to develop communication techniques
- Recognize limits: Some topics are not appropriate for simulation
- Reflect on learning: Consider what each practice session teaches you
🔧 For Developers and Contributors
Contributors to the Intentioned.tech project are expected to:
- Be respectful in code reviews and issue discussions
- Welcome newcomers and help them contribute
- Focus on constructive feedback
- Acknowledge mistakes and learn from them
- Prioritize the community's best interests
📞 Reporting Issues
If you encounter issues with the platform or have concerns about the moderation system:
- Technical issues: Open a GitHub issue at the
project repository
- False positives: If appropriate content is being flagged, please report it to help improve the system
- Suggestions: We welcome feedback on how to improve the platform
🔄 Enforcement
As a self-hosted application, enforcement is primarily through the built-in moderation system:
- Automatic Warning: Content moderation flags inappropriate content
- Session Lockout: Severe violations require a session restart
- Local Logging: Incidents are logged for the host's review
For shared deployments, administrators may implement additional policies as needed.
